Observing Childhood, Transforming Parenting.

Childhood Unhurried

Nurturing childhood, honouring its pace.

Portrait of Gayatri

Hello, and welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I’m Gayatri. I’m a parent who has spent years exploring better ways to understand children, build stronger family connections, and bring more calm into everyday life. I created this space to share my thoughts on what has helped me, in the hope that it may help another parent too.

Experience & journey

The path that led here

My path here began with my own journey as a mother — a journey filled with love, questions, learning, and the desire to understand children more deeply. Along the way, I explored Waldorf education, the Infant Siddha Program, Buddhist Paramitas, meditation, and Pranic Healing. Each of these teachings helped me see that parenting is not about being perfect; it is about growing with our children, creating a nurturing rhythm at home, and learning to meet life with greater awareness and compassion.

Childhood, parenting & education

Why this work matters to me

This work matters deeply to me because childhood is not a race. It is a precious time when a child’s body, heart, mind, and spirit are quietly taking shape. I believe parenting and education should give children time to play, feel safe, explore, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.

Through the experiences that have shaped my own journey, and through the stories and reflections I share here, I hope to inspire parents to pause and look at their own journey a little differently. Perhaps some of these moments will feel familiar, some may spark a thought, and some may simply remind us that, in many ways, we are all navigating the same beautiful, complicated journey of raising children.

About Childhood Unhurried

Why Childhood Unhurried exists

Childhood Unhurried exists to remind us that children do not need to be rushed into life; they need to be lovingly accompanied through it. It is a space for parents to pause, understand their child more deeply, and create homes with rhythm, connection, healthy boundaries, and wonder.

It exists to support parents as they grow too — with more calm, confidence, and compassion — because when parents feel supported, children feel safer, freer, and more able to flourish.
